Children’s Classes
We have listed the various youth classes we currently offer below however we are always looking at extending our programme so if you have a dance style you are interested in us providing for your of your children please get in touch. Please note: If your child has any health concerns we advise that you consultant your doctor before undertaking any of our classes.
Butterfly Ballet
Our creative Butterfly Ballet classes return this term with lots of fun activities for young dancers aged 5-7. The class does not focus on grades rather seeks to engage the young dancers in various different activities with an emphasis on the movements within Ballet repertoire. The participants will learn to create their own sets while learning the basic sets of Ballet. At the end of the 8 weeks the group will put together and short performance for parents to come and watch.
Funky Feet
Funky feet is a creative street dance class that we offer for young dancers aged 8 – 12. The class is fun filled mix of taught skills and sequences and creative opportunities for the participants to develop their own dance moves. As with most of our classes we will work towards a short little performance piece at the end of the programme of workshops.
Creative Street
It does as it says on the tin. Creative Street is an opportunity for young people aged 11- 14 to have fun learning some new dances, develop skills in choreographing their own sequences and work with others to pull together routines. It is a fun and energeitc way to stay healthy fit and on top of the world.
Connect Youth Dance
Connect Youth Dance has been running for over 8 years and while having a little bit of a rest at the moment we hope to return soon with an exciting dance/physical theatre project for young people aged 14 plus. Connect has been involved in a range of exciting projects and has performed in Enniksillen numerous times as well at Queens Belfast Festival and The Share Holiday Village. The group have been involved with many projects including: Mummered Using the traditional Folk plays as a stimulus DQDT worked with members of Connect to create a original performance for Enniskillen Arts Festival. Will I or Won’t I Working with Development Media Workshop DQDT created this unique performance exploring issues around drug and alcohol use and misuse which involved the successful Enniskillen actor Ciaran Mcmenamin.
